About Me
I am a Mental Health Counselor-Limited Permit (MHC-LP) with over three decades of experience spanning various industries. I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from Wake Forest University and I have been a counselor at Phidaly Counseling, in Brooklyn, NY, since August 2023. My professional journey has taken me from blue-collar work to executive roles at within the media and entertainment industry, and I now use that diverse experience to inform my therapeutic practice. My goal is to help clients find practical, meaningful solutions to the challenges they face in their personal and professional lives.
Therapeutic Approach
I utilize an integrative approach that includes mindfulness, compassionate inquiry, and evidence-based techniques such as Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and motivational interviewing. My practice is centered around helping clients build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and find strength in the face of adversity. Drawing from the teachings of Gabor Maté, Albert Ellis, and John C. Maxwell, I empower clients to overcome anxiety, depression, addiction, and other challenges by discovering their inner strengths and adopting practical tools for long-term wellness.
Personal Background
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, I have a deep understanding of the complexities that come with navigating life's challenges in today’s fast-paced world. My Christian faith and interest in Buddhist mindfulness principles shape my holistic approach to therapy, blending spiritual insight with practical tools for healing. I also bring my love of fitness, healthy eating, Star Trek, and comic books into my practice, allowing me to connect with clients in creative and engaging ways. These eclectic interests help me craft strategies for wellness and personal growth that resonate with a wide variety of clients. Outside of counseling, I am a devoted husband, father, and co-host of the podcast The Devil You Don’t Know, where we explore mental health, relationships, and personal development.
